This healthy snack is a delicious combination of fresh sour curd cheese and sweet pomegranate.
Besides being a delicious recipe, it is also very good for you.
But why is this such a perfect dessert for after exercise?
Healthy snack for after exercise
First of all, the cottage cheese. We ate this dessert in the evening after an intensive running interval training.
During an interval training your muscles are heavily loaded.
The powerful take–off requires maximum muscle tension.
The muscles are slightly damaged as a result.
Proteins are the building blocks of muscle fibers.
Proteins help to repair damage in the muscles and limit muscle pain.
Cottage cheese contains a large amount of these important proteins.
The proteins from quark have another advantage.
They make you feel full. This relaxes your body and allows you to unwind just before going to bed.
The pomegranate contains an exceptionally high amount of antioxidants.
These are very important after exercise.
When you exercise, extra energy is needed in your body.
This energy is converted into movement in the muscles.
The conversion of energy in the muscle cells takes place under the influence of oxygen.
This oxidation process has a minor drawback.
Oxygen is a very aggressive substance and damages other cells.
This creates free radicals, which are very harmful to our body.
Antioxidants are needed to fight free radicals.
The antioxidants neutralize the free radicals in the body.
Pomegranate contains a lot of antioxidants and is therefore a perfect snack for after exercise.
In addition to the antioxidants, pomegranate contains a lot of fiber and other vitamins.
After exercising, supplementing your shortages with this delicious healthy snack ensures that you get out of bed the next morning fresh and fruity.
