Pecan Pie

Ingridients

5 eggs

50 g icing sugar

170 g flour

200 g pecan nuts

70 g brown sugar

100 g syrup

60 g whipped cream

180 g butter

salt

aluminium foil

Preparation method

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Separate 4 eggs and keep the yolks. Cut 120 g butter into pieces and knead together with 1 egg yolk, a pinch of salt, icing sugar and flour into a dough. Add 1 or 2 tablespoons of cold water as needed. Let the dough cool for at least 1 hour. Grease a springform pan with some butter and line with baking paper. Roll out the dough with some flour, cover the spring form with the dough and leave a 3 cm edge protruding above the form. Bake the pie crust in the oven for about 13 minutes until brown and crispy. Meanwhile, fry the pecans in a frying pan without oil or butter. Melt the rest of the butter in a saucepan, let it brown slightly and then let it cool. Mix the rest of the egg yolks with the egg, syrup, brown sugar and whipped cream.

     

Stir well and gradually add the melted butter. Pour the egg mixture onto the pie crust and scatter the pecans on top. Bake the cake in the oven for about 30 minutes. Cover the cake with aluminum foil for the last 20 minutes. Let the pecan pie cool before serving.

Tip: delicious with some whipped cream!
